The coolant shunt tube is used for either a Freightliner Cascadia or 122SD trucks when installing a Detroit Series 60 engine (DDEC3, 4 or 5 engine electronics). The tube connects the water pump to the surge tank on the radiator and is powdercoated black. The tube is routed across the front of the engine, between the front cover and the back of the fan hub. One end of the tube includes a 37 degree flare nut to attach to the water pump. The other end of the tube has a hose barb that is intended for 1" ID silicone to connect to the surge tank.
