After the engine swap in your Kenworth or Peterbilt Class 8 truck, the factory dash gauges often lose functionality for certain parameters because the new ECM doesn't transmit compatible J1939 data to the PACCAR cab control module. These kits are tailored for Caterpillar, Cummins, and Detroit Diesel engine conversions in Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks, addressing specific post-conversion gaps:
- Engine Oil Temperature — Caterpillar-specific; ADEM2 and ADEM2000 ECMs (common in 3406E, early C15) do not monitor or broadcast oil temp data, leaving the factory gauge dead. Our smart gauge revives this critical readout.
- Pyrometer (Exhaust Gas Temperature) — Universal for any Caterpillar, Cummins, or Detroit engine in NAMUX1 or NAMUX3 chassis. Factory pyrometers were discontinued after DPF introductions (2008); this kit adds a matching OEM-style gauge with probe for precise EGT monitoring and protection against overheating.
