This front engine upfit kit for Detroit Diesel Series 60 engines offers a convenient solution for upgrading to a 8 groove serpentine belt configuration for the Accessory Drive. The kit is not chassis specific and fits Detroit Diesel Series 60 engines. This kit will enhance the performance and efficiency of a Detroit Series 60 engine by optimizing the belt system on the accessory drive. By upgrading from V-Belts to an 8 groove serpentine belt configuration on the accessory drive, it ensures better power transmission and reduced belt slippage which prolongs the life of the belts, resulting in improved overall engine performance. This 8 groove serpentine upfit kit is designed to be used with a TOP Mount Pad style AC Compressor and a Pad Mount Alternator.

NOTE: There are (2) common accessory drive assemblies that Detroit used on the series 60 engines with a dual V belt configuration. If your engine has accessory drive PN: 23523996, then you can simply replace the dual V belt pulley with the new 8 groove serpentine pulley provided in this kit. However, if your engine has accessory drive PN: 23509200, the shaft length is 1/4" too short and must be changed out OR the new pulley must be shimmed out in order for the belt to align properly with the other pulleys in the accessory drive system.
