A complete Air Compressor upgrade kit for Caterpillar 3406E and C15 engines to increase the amount of airflow. The standard compressor on Cat 3406E and C15 engines is a TruFlow 550 capable of 13.2 CFM of displacement at 1250 rpm. This kit includes a DuraFlow 596 with significantly more capacity at 27 CFM of displacement at the same 1250 rpm.
Compression of air is controlled by the compressor unloading mechanism operating in conjunction with a remote mounted governor and synchro valve. Unlike the Tu-Flo® compressor series, the DuraFlo 596™ compressor requires the addition of a synchro valve to assure proper operation and service life. The governor and synchro valve combination maintains brake system air pressure between a preset maximum and minimum pressure level.
