The Charge and Start harness assembly is an installation harness for Peterbilt trucks with NAMUX1 chassis electronics, the harness has multiple different functions. The harness includes main charge wires to connect the alternator to the starter with over crank protection (OCP) provisions. This harness also supplies main cab/sleeper power through a distribution center and a finally main start circuit/start relay.
This harness is a requirement for NAMUX1 trucks and interfaces directly with the engine control harness through a breakout labeled J144. The harness is compatible with a neutral start system and is supplied with a jumper plug installed, if you will be using this feature you can disconnect the jumper plug and wire directly to the neutral safety switch on your transmission.
NOTE: Peterbilt NAMUX1 chassis electronics are typically found on 2006-2007 year model Peterbilt heavy duty class 8 trucks such as 379 378, 386 and 367. If you are uncertain of your exact chassis electronics please call for fitment confirmation.
