The Charge and Start harness assembly is an installation harness for Peterbilt trucks with NAMUX2 or NAMUX3 chassis electronics, the harness has multiple different functions. The harness includes main charge wires to connect the alternator to the starter with over crank protection (OCP) provisions. This harness also supplies main cab/sleeper power through a distribution center and a finally main start circuit/start relay.
This harness is a requirement for NAMUX2 or NAMUX3 trucks and interfaces directly with the engine control harness through a breakout labeled J144. The harness is compatible with a neutral start system and is supplied with a jumper plug installed, if you will be using this feature you can disconnect the jumper plug and wire directly to the neutral safety switch on your transmission.
NOTE: Peterbilt NAMUX2/3 chassis electronics are typically found on 2008 and newer Peterbilt heavy duty class 8 trucks such as 367, 386, 388 and 389. If you are uncertain of your exact chassis electronics please call for fitment confirmation.
