An installation harness to supply power from the alternator when charging back to the battery positive. The harness also includes an ammeter sensor that plugs into the OEM chassis harness breakout. The harness is available in either standard or extended length depending on the battery box location. The typical battery box located under the drivers door would require a standard length harness, whereas any other battery box location would require the extended length harness.
This harness is commonly used when replacing a Paccar engine. The alternator on the Paccar motor is located on the drivers side of the engine whereas the traditional location of Caterpillar, Cummins and Detroit engines is on the passenger side, making the OEM harness too short. Another common application where this harness is used is during CAB swaps when upgrading to a NAMUX3 or NAMUX4 cab on an older Chassis.
NOTE: This harness is compatible with Kenworth NAMUX3 and Peterbilt/Kenworth NAMUX4 chassis electronics. NAMUX3 electronics are typically found on 2011 and newer year model Kenworth heavy duty class 8 trucks such as W900, T800 and T660. NAMUX4 electronics are found on Kenworth T680 or T880 and Peterbilt 579 or 567 trucks. If you are uncertain of your exact chassis electronics please call for fitment confirmation.
